An ambitious urban development is taking shape in Pujiang, a town south of Chengdu, China, with the goal of delivering a sustainable, high-quality lifestyle. Already known for its clean air and green hills, the project aims to preserve this natural setting while minimizing environmental impact and addressing future risks. A simple tourist platform overlooks the town and the surrounding Qionglai mountain range. Studio MVRDV was invited to reimagine the Pujiang platform.

Railroads are essential and indispensable modes of transportation in modern cities. These superstructures physically, socially, and economically connect various neighborhoods. However, these massive structures do not typically include appealing places where people want to spend their time in daily life. Recently, this trend has begun to change, driven by initiatives aimed at addressing the challenges posed by the physical barriers created by railroads.
